The Covid Catalog, Gone Too Soon, Julius Adorno Jr
The Covid Catalog remembers Julius Adorno, 88, of Bronx
Born in 1941, Julius Adorno was born and raised in the Bronx. He grew up with his two brothers. Julius was tall and mostly confused for a footballer, and his nickname was “Tiny” for its irony, said Jefferey, his son.
Julius went to Samuel Gompers High School and joined the military in the 1950s. He participated in the Korean war and played basketball and baseball for the US Marines. He later worked as a truck driver in the air conditioning and refrigeration business before being promoted to management at the warehouse.
He motivated his two sons to pursue arts and music and supported their band by providing equipment and transportation. He loved helping people.
Julius died on April 3, 2020, at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital. He was 88.
