The Covid Catalog, Gone Too Soon, Jose Roberto Alvarez

The Covid Catalog remembers Jose Roberto Alvarez, 67, of Los Angeles

Jose Roberto, an immigrant from El Salvador, was an engineer by profession and worked as the head of maintenance at a Mission Foods factory in California.

He contracted the coronavirus and tested positive on June 28. His wife and two daughters also contracted the virus, but they recovered. He was hospitalized on July 4 after having breathing difficulties and was placed on a ventilator.  Jose died on July 20, at 67.

Jose enjoyed helping others and was always there for his family no matter what. He was among thousands of essential workers who went to work when California experienced a surge in Covid-19 cases.
