The Covid Catalog, Gone Too Soon, Gabriella “Gabby” Hernandez
The Covid Catalog remembers Gabriella “Gabby” Hernandez, 57 of Queens
Gabriella Hernandez was born in Peru but used the Italian spelling of her first name instead of Spanish. She moved to the United States around 1990 and lived in Queens. Hernandez took care of others, her relatives and workmates said.
She had a habitual greeting “Hello, my love” for her coworkers at EarlyLearn Corona, where she worked as a family social worker. Her family commemorates her as resourceful, with solutions to any situation. “I’ll always remember the kindness she showed someone she had never met,” said her fiancee, Larry Lutsky.
Hernandez lost her life to the noble coronavirus on April 13, 2020, in Jamaica Hospital. She was 57. She is survived by her fiancee Lutsky and three sons.
