California couple Juan and Blanca Rodriguez both died at the age of 67. The cause was COVID-19 complications. They met in seventh grade and married five years later. They died within hours of saying last goodbyes on Zoom. They were retired and living with some of their children. Everyone in the family suddenly contracted the virus in mid-January.
Their children recovered, but the couple had to be rushed to the hospital on Feb.1. The couple was admitted to two different care facilities where they communicated with their family via zoom only. Not long after Juan was put on a ventilator, the family got a call about Blanca saying that she was not doing well and had to be put on a ventilator.
Juan died on Feb. 8 at 4:18 a.m., and Blanca died at 12:30 a.m. ‘We are at peace knowing that they were always together in life, they could not be apart in time of death as well.’ Juan Jr. wrote.
They are survived by four children and six grandchildren.
