The Covid Catalog remembers Veronica Guevara Giron, a 37-year-old mother from Southern California, succumbed to coronavirus complications on January 7. She died days after giving birth to her sixth child.
Veronica Guevara Giron was eight months pregnant when she was hospitalized with symptoms of the deadly virus. Doctors delivered her baby five weeks early as her health continued to deteriorate. She was placed on a ventilator a short time after the birth, but her condition did not improve.
Her husband Giron said that she started saying she couldn’t breathe, and they had to take her to the hospital.
She left behind a loving family consisting of her husband Giron, a sanitation worker, her youngest daughter, Imani, and the other five daughters.
