The Covid Catalog celebrates Tommy DeVito, 92.
Tommy DeVito, a gifted singer and guitarist, died on 21 September 2020 at the age of 92 due to covid-19 complications. He was the founding member of the Four Seasons, the biggest selling US pop group of the early 1960s.
Tommy was born Gaetano DeVito. He was the son of Italian immigrants in Belleville, New Jersey and the youngest of nine children. He started playing the guitar for tips at the age of 12 and left school at 13. ‘I was locked up when I was a kid. I went to prison one time, and I was in six or seven jails,’ Tommy said in 2009.
DeVito was married twice; his second wife, Edda, died three months before his death. He is survived by three children; two from his first marriage and a daughter from his second.
