The Covid Catalog Remembers Ramon Arthur Rivera Jr. 56, Palmdale.
Ramon Arthur died at 56 on April 18, 2020, of Covid-19 complications at his Palmdale home. Rivera, his wife Jeanette, and brother Fred Started having headaches in early April, but Rivera’s symptoms worsened. He experienced shortness of breath and fever a week before he died. His condition became complicated by his diabetes and a heart condition.
Rivera’s nickname was Sluggo, named after the character in the iconic Nancy comic strip. Ramon was chubby, had very little hair and a round head, his sister said. He was funny, turned everything into a joke, and had a soft heart.
He worked as a roofer until 2000, when he got a workplace accident that forced him to retire. Since then, he was building military vehicle models and hanging out at Fox Airfield in Antelope Valleys.
Rivera is survived by his wife Jeanette, son Ramon Arthur, siblings Fred, Angel, and Alex, and one grandson.
