The Covid Catalog remembers Michael Cook, 84, of Los Gatos.
A long-time professor of religious studies at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, Michael Cook died on December 17 due to Covid-19 complications. He spent the final years of his life at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center in Los Gatos, California, where he contracted the virus. He was 84. Being born in Wolf Point, Mont., Cook and his family shifted to Seattle when he was 5. He went to a Jesuit-run high school in Seattle and helped his father at his ice cream parlors and doughnut shops.
Cook joined the Jesuit novitiate at 17. He continued with his theological studies focusing on Christology after his ordainment as a priest in 1966. Cook spent much of his life studying to deepen his knowledge of Christ.
