The Covid Catalog, Gone Too Soon, Lorraine Lietzke
The Covid Catalog remembers Lorraine Lietzke, 90, of Detroit
Lorraine Lietzke died on November 9 in a nursing home. The cause of her death was COVID-19. She moved into the nursing home, where she contracted the virus when the pandemic started due to struggles with her dementia. In the last month of her life, she made several visits to the hospital.
Her family described her as being “fiercely independent” and “always out doing something,” her grandson Andy Zarkovich said. She lived a great life. Lietzke was the primary provider for her family, and she worked at Fisher Body Division of General Motors for 32 years. Her husband died in 1993.
