The Covid Catalog Gone To Soon Gladdie Fowler

The Covid Catalog remembers, Gladdie Lee Plowden, an educator and mentor health advocate, who died of COVID-19 at 69. She died on December 4, at a hospital in Houston, her daughter, Edreauanna Fowler, said.

Gladdie Fowler graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1969 and achieved her undergraduate degree in vocational home economics and child development in 1973. She married Eddie R. Fowler, who was also an educator. Ms. Fowler later earned her master’s degree in educational administration from Lamar University in Beaumont.

Ms. Fowler headed DeQueen Elementary School from 1998 to 2008 and Port Acres Elementary School from 2012 to 2015. She grew into an expert school administrator. When low-performing schools in Texas and Port Arthur, needed help the superintendent always called her.

Along with her daughter, she has left behind her husband; a son, Eddie R. Fowler; two grandchildren; and seven siblings.
